Wash & Care
BRASS PRODUCTS
- In the case of Cookware, there is a thin layer of packaging on the product. Please peel it off, wash the pan and then use.
- Use only foam to clean the utensils. Wire wool and other metal-based scrubbers are not suitable for cleaning your beautiful brass cookware as these can etch the surface of brass.
- Use mild washing detergent, preferably liquid soap to clean the utensils. Never use harsh chemicals or chlorine-based products to clean your brass.
- Use dish washing liquid or mild detergent
- Do not use a dishwasher for any brass utensil as the detergents and salts will tarnish, etch and corrode the brass.
- Wipe dry all the utensils immediately after cleaning them with water and detergent. This will help you keep your utensils free from any water spots.
- Store all your utensils in a dry place away from the sun.
- In case of an elongated period of no usage of the products, prefer wrapping them in muslin cloth for storing.
- Avoid using metal scrappers, spoons or ladles for cooking. We suggest using wooden spoons.
- All the cookware will oxidise naturally but it can be cleaned as we clean silver products periodically to maintain its shine.
- Never submerge your beautiful brass cookware in water for extended periods of time as it can lead to brass tarnishing. Instead, pour hot water into the vessel and add dishwashing liquid. Let this soak inside of the cookware while you enjoy your meal and the clean-up should be simple when the meal is done.
- Match your pot or pan to the right size burner, especially on gas ranges. The flames can lick the sides of your vessel during cooking if you put it on a burner which is too large. This will cause marks and overheating the vessel. Remember, brass conducts heat more efficiently than other metals, it's important to use slightly lower heat settings than normal. This will avoid unnecessary scorching and reduce the clean-up work involved.
- We recommend keeping the flame low for the entire duration of cooking, this will ensure proper cooking of the food from with-in (Promote slow-cooking) and also reduce the cleaning time.
