BRASS PRODUCTS
Since, we strongly believe in good health, all our brass products are 100% lead free and rely on Ayurvedic purity.
In case of cookware, there is a thin layer of packaging on the product. Please peel it off, wash the utensil and then use. In case of tableware, wash them with mild liquid detergent and use them.
If the product has been stored without use for a long time, please wash and then use.

Yes, real brass oxidises naturally when it comes in contact with any moisture present in the atmosphere. The tableware has been coated with an anti-oxidising (protective) coating that prevents the utensils from oxidizing. No protective layer for this purpose has been coated on the cookware since that might destroy the utensils when put on stove, but regular use of the utensils shall slow down the oxidization process.
Eventually the tin lining will have to be replaced. This process is called "Retinning/Re-kalai" and should happen every 12-16 months depending on how often you use your pans. The standard rule of thumb is that when you can see an area of brass that is the size of a quarter (rupee) the pan should be retinned.
Yes, you can cook tomato or other acidic stuff until there is tin coating/kalai inside. You need to get the pans re-tinned periodically.
